The fourth annual Inspire Youth@Work Summer Opportunities Fair is tentatively slated to be held in early spring 2018.

This unique job and opportunity fair is the ONLY one in the area with a mission to connect young people (ages 14 – 24) with government, businesses and not-for-profit organizations that are looking to fill summer jobs, volunteer programs, internships, resources, and leadership development opportunities.

This event is expected to draw over 300 – 500 attendees from the city and surrounding counties. Hosted by the Capital Region Workforce Partnership, Resource Workforce Development Board, and the Capital Region Transition Council and Inspire Youth Network, this FREE event also aims to raise awareness about resources and programs available and provide success tips on resume and interview preparation for the young adults in our community.

Preparing for the Opportunity Fair

To assist those attending to prepare for the Opportunities Fair, we provide a guidebook so that attendees can do their homework and learn more about the organizations that are participating PRIOR to coming to the fair! Here is a link to the 2017 Guide.

This means, you should

  1. Review all of the companies listed in the packet
  2. Go to organizations websites to learn more about the positions available
  3. Apply to those positions online (if possible).

In addition to the employers, there are also mini-workshops on how to create and improve resumes, tips to finding jobs online, and making sure that the attendee’s social media captures the right kind of attention.

Attendees have also been able to UPGRADE their social media profiles by getting a professional headshot taken at the event.

You don’t want to miss it!
